I'm not a ST nerd so that's one of the rare things I know about ST.

I accidentally read cdtm's post while scrolling, he's lying as usual, Shatner was not in his 40s during Star Trek: The Original Series. He was around 34-37 when filming.

I never said he was 40 when it first started, stop putting words in my mouth. Clearly he was well into 40 for most of his career, much older if including movies and such.

The fact is men are considered over the hill by around 35-40, certainly not considered sex icons, that's a young man's game. A fly by the seat of your pants laides man and action hero in middle age is fantastic.

Granted these days it's a lot more common what with aging stars like Tom Cruise, but it certainly wasn't back in the 1960's-1980's.
