The only thing you can be at fault for is your reactions. They are responsible for their bullying and harassment.
There's nothing inherently wrong or right about coming out as transgender: it just "is."
There's only right, wrong, or neutral reactions to transgenderism.
Some weaponize transgenderism for attention, oppression Olympics, or personality disorders that involve attention seeking. Some are transgender due to severe abuse they experienced as children or young adults. For some, it is autogynephilia. Some are transgender because they were born that way. There's a lot of different reasons for transgenderism.
But there's never really good reasons to be buttholes to each other unless it is reacting to people being a butthole to you. 🙂
If you stopped engaging them and allowing them to get under your skin (be the master and commander of your boat, don't let anyone else touch the controls/wheel), it will be easier to navigate the transgender landscape.
The world becomes a much more beautiful place if you just stop giving a shit about the buttholes and bring the good people closer.
