It seems to me that the main reason for Surtur's ban was not so much any of his actions, but rather than he confronted the moderator directly and repeatedly about it. Which made it more of an issue of authority.
Otherwise most things seem to be let go here, certainly compared to other communities, things like pretty personal attacks, I mean.

The problem is that the very act of anyone registering a sock is an act of questioning the authority of the mods and saying they do not recognize it. There are several posters here who are active who are socks, have have had multiple socks. So that can't be the issue. Hell a mod ordered people to ignore me under threat of banning and nobody listened, even other mods. That isn't out of loyalty to me or even some innate desire to thumb their nose at any authority figure...it's just because they didn't take what was being said seriously.
And why should anyone? I accuse them of disparate treatment and their response is "Anyone talking to an obvious sock is banned", as if done to purposely open themselves up to even more such accusations. Since nobody here was ever under the impression he meant any other obvious sock but me depsite the fact there are plenty of obvious socks.
And in my 5 years of actively posting I have never once seen a moderator threaten people for responding to others. I think that gave the game away. And yes whenever I see them wielding their authority unjustly I will call it out. Instead of just not behaving unjustly they chose to get upset over it being called out and then to double and then triple down on it.

They professed months ago they were going to crack down on harassment and poof that thread has now been deleted. Maybe because they ignored threats against me, others, etc,
So it's not about harassment or socking. It's about their ego.
Oh that reminds me: folk should avoid trying to torrent the new Wonder Woman until next week when it comes out on streaming here.
It came out in the UK a few days ago and I got one that claimed it was a high quality version, but alas it turns out the movie is not available to stream in the UK either lol. Theaters in low risk areas are apparently open. So the only version people will find right now is some shitty cam.
