I don't know the specifics of this disagreement, but I'd posit that the reason why one of you supports their friend and does not think the same should be the case for your opponents friend and vice versa is probably the same for each of you. You might identify more with one of the "sides" that tend to build and feel that you need to support people that are aligned with you while clearly being able to see that inconsistency in the perceived "enemy". And I mean that does make some sense, loyalty and friendship are worthwhile traits, but perhaps it is good to examine sometimes what baggage we take on with our relations and the identities we choose for ourselves.

Alternatively, you might also value different digressions very differently. Perhaps one friend was particularly racist and that's a big deal for one of you, and the other was particularly misogynist.

Third, one of you may be lying about the other, of course.

My entire point is hypocrisy amongst a specific group of allies on KMC. I can no longer call them 'the Left' — correct terminology is still in the works. For now, they can be called the 'Lotorians'. They are a group that decries the alt-right yet are alt-right adjacent (to borrow a modern left-wing term). They are anti-bigotry yet welcome bigots into their crowd. And, most importantly, they claim to stand on the side of moral righteousness, yet continually display a lack of positive ethics and morals.

This is a tiresome endeavour.
