Speaking of dating and women, did you hear the one about the NYC professor claiming women won't date a man who doesn't have a degree, and there's a "dating crisis" on the horizon as women outnumber men two to one, and men drop out in higher numbers (And I think kill themselves and get violent and stuff)?

I am very confused by this thing. Because the prof, who's name is Scott Galloway, isn't a psychologist or mental health guy or even a dating guru, he's just a marketing professor.
I mean, we live in the age of "misinformation hunting". So why is CNN and Business Insider and a million other publications simply repeating his crap? How is he an expert here?

The appeal to (perceived) authority happens in everything these days and has done for a long time. Throw back to when 9/11 truthers kept citing "Dr" X and "Professor" Y as experts on what happened to the twin towers on 9/11 and when you actually checked what they had qualifications in it turned out to be theology or some other completely unrelated field.
