Pretty much.
It's not even a secret.
You can be talking to someone and then you'll see an ad for what you were talking about just then with the person in your room. Some people, liars (or just dumb people in denail), try to state it is just the Bernie Beinhof Effect.
Meaning, the obscure thing you were just now talking about popping up as an ad in your internet browsing, a few seconds later, is just the Bernie Beinhof Effect, just a coincidence. That you probably talked about and looked up this topic before, making the ad sense kick in and serve up ads. And it JUST SO HAPPENED to choose this one ad for this one obscure topic you forgot about.
It's simply not true. My memory is absurdly good. Some topics, I have never discussed or looked up on the internet. In my entire life. I remember conversations from when I was 2 much less from just a few years ago.
Here's a recent example of the creepiness of your devices listening to you:
I was talking to my wife about stuff she wanted (she was just my fiancee at the time). She had mentioned an obscure Japanese charcoal mask to help with her comlexion. Never in my life have I ever talked about this or google searched for it - I had never heard of it. No one else has access to my google accounts to use it to search for stuff. Yet, moments later, going to Amazon to look for the masks, it magically recommends Korean and Japanese charcoal face masks. Hilariously, it was mixed in with protein powders, protein bars, and electronic device purchase suggestions (what I frequently purchase or research on Amazon). Clearly, my device (iPhone) was listening to my conversation. It was the Amazon ap.
