Thor has to sit there and let the Death Star hit him with the “full force “ of the Death Star blast

Does he live to tell about it?

No

The Death Star would have to generate a beam with enough joules of power equivalent to a week’s worth of energy output by our sun to destroy a planet the size of Earth.

And that was just one single beam blast less than five seconds long.

Thor tanked a (dying) neutron star’s power, but it almost killed him.

Thor isn’t tanking a Death Star’s blast beam.

Thor died to the neutron star and needed the axe to revive him. As axes are not a byproduct of the death star, I don't imagine him walking away from this
