General question regarding Star Wars series ..

Sorry i hope this isnt too much of topic or far fetched : in the series both canon and legends they had advanced tech in star wars ie to clone etc why couldnt they repair severed limbs, or perform some sort of procedure to regenerate , and even other injuries ie burns etc?

Has the above ever been done in both canon and legends ?

Cloning= Expensive, controversial and illegal.

Cybernetic replacement= Cheap and legal.

Basically it in a nutshell.

And legitimate/reliable cloners were also really hard to come by, whereas most medical droids could preform cybernetic replacements.
