The "he didn't know" is just more damage-control from Trumpers after the fact. The message was sent; his supporters got the message.
Someone probably got a hold of Trump's account and retweeted that. Doubt Trump did it himself.
I'm sure we'll be hearing an explanation from him in a day or two for it. This is just confirmation bias for those who already hated Trump anyway. Level-headed folk don't jump to conclusions that quickly.
I'll give Trump the benefit of the doubt and give him time to explain. So would leftists/Trump-haters if Trump were a democrat and shared their crazy left-wing extremist positions.
If it were anyone but Biden as the Dem nom, Trump would have already lost this election. This kind of thing would ruin Trump in a debate, but I doubt Biden is collected enough to bring this up in the debates and force Trump into a spiral of denial or deflection that most of the public would see through. This is the kind of thing that loses elections, but honestly I'm still not sure how it'll play out in November.
Here are my questions about this story:
—If Trump knew the full content of this video and isn't a racist, why would he retweet it?
—If Trump is a racist and he knew what he was doing, why would he take it down after just long enough for everyone to see, and for news stations to pick it up?
—If this was just an 'honest mistake', how did it take so long for Trump's team to identify it and take it down?
Honestly, this is just bizarre. It's so damning, and yet, I wonder if it will really do much to contribute to a potential loss for Trump in November.
