What made his Spectre run so good, was his background as a theologian. Seeing Spectre argue with Zeus and Deadman about creation myths, and insisting they can't ALL be true.

To which a much wiser god replies, "And why can't they? They are all facets of "god", none less true then the other.

Soul's location should be impossible to determine... or, at the very least, it should be omnipresent in the whole body, maybe.

But let's assume it's indeed within MM's powerset to perform such a ridiculous feat.

Because he can also shift his competence, and he keeps it save, locked up in a secret place that nobody can take it away from him.

He must have forgotten where he put the key to that "secret place", then...
