Why on Earth did you leave out choreography?

Honestly though, I have to go with Michael Jackson by a smidge when everything is added together. Fantastic songwriter, and apparently had a savant-like understanding of rhythm and beat.

Mercury is the better singer; I will give him that.

Well whoever is better I'm sure we can all agree that There Must Be More To Life Than This was totally shite.

Disclaimer: While I personally prefer Mercury, Michael Jackson is a legend in his own right. Objectively neither is better than the other. That being said, let’s get into specifics.

Singing ability: While Jackson had an amazing falsetto and high pitched octave, I believe Mercury had an overall better vocal range as a whole, as well as a more diverse style.

Range: See above. Mercury kills it.

Flair: This one is pretty tied, as both had their own charisma and style that made magic. Tie.

Showmanship: As with the flair, this one is debatable.

Appeal: I’d actually go with MJ on this one; Queen is extremely popular, but not nearly as ubiquitous as MJ is in almost every facet of entertainment.

Legacy: MJ has a somewhat tainted name to himself due to various allegations (none to be proven true), so I feel like his legacy has spoiled a bit more than Mercury’s.

Singing ability - MJ
Range - Mercury, easily
Flair - MJ. MJ had an absurd wardrobe. Known for his ostentatious flair.
Showmanship - MJ. Close, though.
Choreography - MJ, by far. He had far more money and effort put into his choreography
Appeal - MJ. Since this category is basically a popularity number, MJ wins this objectively.
Legacy - Difficult. Currently, MJ. Time may tell a different tale.

Overall: MJ, comfortably.

MJ was definitely better at entertainment children.

MJ was good but the fooling around with macauly culkin and buying the rights to the beatles makes me a bit uncomfortable.

Buying the rights to the Beatles is called business. There are many rumors that MJ was a shark when it came to that aspect of his life.
