The workshops is for companies to legally cover their ass without having to actually change anything for the workers, neither black nor white employees that are forced to endure them like them or learn anything positively from them, in fact there's evidence that they make things worse. And the book is for wealthy white liberals to buy themselves an absolution for their racism.
It's in a nutshell what is wrong with liberal America in regards to race. If you want to learn something about racism in the US read a book by black scholars, I'd suggest Angela Davis or Bell Hooks for a holistic approach, instead of elevating some corporate conwoman to the bestseller list. It's infuriating.
