American politics affect the world entire so it makes sense that even those who are not Americans follow and have opinions.
True, but I'll add that if someone is from a country that is acting like 1984 was a how to guide instead of fiction they should probably pipe down. Or criticize America while acknowledging how utterly superior we are to said 1984 country(and we are).
If I wasn't American, I'd sure be arguing points.
We're hilariously easy to wind up, because we take our social politics so damned seriously.
That isn't to say I don't think Whirly has actual beliefs. I just think it's one part genuine expression, one part have fun with the berks.
We're simply too easy a target not to poke with a stick.
American politics are fascinating in their own right. They are packaged similarly to reality TV, and entertainment is America's biggest and most popular export, so it is not surprising that the political entertainment would also be spread wide.
Additionally the United States has influence throughout the world, some would even compare it a sort of soft imperialism. So again almost anywhere in the world is affected by American politics. To give an example, I would say that Iraqi and Afghan citizens were much more affected by the election of George W. Bush than US citizens were. So it is neither surprising nor unreasonable for people around the world to be heavily invested in the outcome of American political fights.
