Here in the UK where I live, I can get basic medical service free of charge, as can any citizen or immigrant or tourist. The priority is to keep the patient alive, not if they can pay the ****ing bill. Say I break an arm or a leg, I'd get treatment free of charge. We also have private insurance for people who wanna pay extra if they're cancer patients, for eg.Your system sucks ass.
That's LITERALLY the same system here (except it isn't free) and it is a lie that the US also won't provide the services. It's a common lie spread by the people who hate the US.
The problem in the US is the lack of consistency in medical care, across the board, and the lack of cost-regulation. Making our medical services much more expensive. But our medical services still provide the same care regardless of whether or not a person is covered. Your life will be saved here, too. You'll just get a giant bill.
And, depending on where you are, you could get much better care in the US than anywhere else in the world while they are saving your life. 🙂
Make sure your criticisms of the US are legit and not commonly debunked talking points. Critique our shitty data sharing and lack of cohesion across the medical landscape. Critique our lack of no-nonsense cost controls. Critique the corruption from medical equipment and service corporations who price gouge to keep costs too high. Critique the insurance companies for trying to make money off of hurt and ill people. Those are all legit problems we have.
But our doctors and nurses not caring about providing medical care? That's not one of our problems. They do a good job almost all of the time. Our average of "good job" is worse than the UK's NHS, yes, but it's still pretty good.
