It would be an odd turnabout if true. Given the Taliban are basically the Mujahedeen and the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan was one of the most barbaric wars ever. I'm not convinced they'd have close enough ties given they still absolutely hate each other. As far as I'm aware anyway. Can't say I've kept up with Russia-Taliban relations.

Well yeah, but that isn't the point and Rob knows that. Yet he highlighted that the investigation isn't over yet as if I was trying to hide that. I mean even the headline suggests they are still checking into it, it says "still hasn't established". It didn't say the investigation was concluded.
The point, as Rob knew, was that certain folk here and in the media pretended like this story was fact. It is not, it has not even been confirmed despite ongoing attempts to do so for months.

And it's doubtful the investigation will be complete before the election too. So if it wasn't true it will have done the political damage the leak intended either way.
It's why it was leaked in the first place. It's why Schiff is now propping up some whistleblower claiming he was told to downplay russia's efforts against the US, meanwhile Schiff was disparaging the rep of the same guy just weeks earlier.
