DBS retconned that.

In DBS, a Potara fusion between mortals only lasts a maximum of 1 hour before they de-fuse... But if they access God ki while fused(ie. SSB Vegito), the fusion only lasts a few minutes.

These days Metamoran fusion actually lasts longer than Potara once God ki enters the fray.

Which is weird, because ssj3 used too much power that fusion wouldn't hold up the full time.

Yeah, when Gotenks used SS3 he stated that it cut the fusion time down to just 5 minutes.

Fast-forward to the Broly movie, and Goku states that Metamoran fusion will last a full 30mins, regardless.

So maybe 'regular' ki affects Metamoran fusion differently than God ki?

Super saiyan 3 also ate up goku's earth time. Pretty sure it's just a huge resource sink and no other transformer would eat dance time

Yeah, SS3 is virtually worthless unless you start off with your stamina at 100% and can kill your opponent within a few minutes.

Even as of the ToP, Goku commented on SS3's drain while he was fighting Caulifla/Kale -- implying that it's still far more taxing than even SSG/SSB.
