He's right in that I am a mixed bag.
Mostly because my beliefs on a range of topics aren't dictated by how I identify myself politically but rather the other way around.
So I don't do what a lot of people apparently do which is that they declare themselves left or right and then adopt the beliefs of that definition without any critical thought. They then paint themselves into a corner. This is what results in cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy.
If you want examples in relation to American politics. I wouldn't want guns banned but also believe there can be technological solutions to help mitigate the issues around gun violence while still allowing people their 2nd amendment rights.
I believe in a capitalist economy that adopts a redistribution principle that is both rewarding to the entrepreneur but also works to service society as a whole (a taxation system that allows for investment in high quality infrastructure that will create a feedback loop that then strengthens the economy)
I believe in restricted government in that it should be used for the execution of public services (law and order, public security and safety, public health, infrastructure maintenance) but shouldn't be used for superfluous things such as...well... just Google "stupid government jobs" to see plenty examples.

Notice the qualifier. Not just that you were right wing, but "quite" right wing. As if you were practically flirting with the alt right on certain issues.
And that just isn't true from what I've seen. None of what you just laid out flirts with the alt right ideology.

No I wasn't. I was and still am in favour of Scottish independence and was and still am in favour of Brexit. (Although am against how it has been executed, particularly by Boris Johnson's hilariously inept government.)
