Perhaps. I still don't think he will die though. And I'm not nearly as confident where he will spend eternity as I am with those others I mentioned.
He isn't a saint by any measure but I don't think he is actually a bad person, overall. What matters the most though is whether or not he has accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior. If he has already, or does it before he dies (whenever that may be, hopefully not too soon) then he will be saved.
I pray he is going go make it thru this though.

Stephen Hawking and Charley Darwin had that same free will. They made their choice and I'm almost certain where they're spending eternity right now, though I don't know with 100% certainty.
It's entirely plausible they accepted Christ in secret before they died. I hope they did. God doesn't want anyone to be damned to Hell and neither do I.
