I am so ****ing confused by that trailer.
I didn't know if it was supposed to be just some assassin with the santa clause nickname or not. I thought it was but then they started talking about elves eating and stuff so I don't know if it's got a supernatural aspect or what exactly is going on.

Oh rly?....do tell.
I wish my review contained mysterious truths, but it's as simple as this:
They put all the exciting parts in the trailer. It takes about fifty minutes for anything to happen and by then you don't care, it's just too predictable. Great cast let down by mediocre directing and a non-existent plot/storyline.

I like that Mel identifies his reindeer as female. Nice attention to detail!
Will be watching this on Sunday with friends.
Doesn't look as good as the world's three best Christmas films, A Christmas Story (1983), Bad Santa (2003) and Die Hard (1988), but it looks good enough from the preview, hopefully it delivers.
edit: I see Dreampanther's reviews, oh well, will still watch but too bad 🙁
Watched it a couple of days ago.
I rather enjoyed it! It went along at a moderate pace but it was never not interesting. Gibson played the role of a burnt out St. Nick trying to make ends meet, keep his business going and his ppl employed to sheer perfection imo, and his chemistry w. Marianne Jean-Baptiste was excellent.
Walton Goggins owned pretty much every scene he was in as per usual, though I gotta rate his screen time w. Gibson a tie, as Gibson was really on point here, and Goggins’ character was particularly unlikable (and Goggins managed to make a racist rapist druggie white supremacist likable so that’s saying something for me). Chance Hurstfield played a an amazingly shitty little shit and I loved him getting his comeuppance.
All in all I was not disappointed/pleasantly surprised.
