Anyway, then, as requested, the first part of my Edna-crush story, and were it went from there!
Imagine the scene, 30 months ago. Myself, still rather ill, utterly socially inadequate and bored SENSELESS, have finally come on-line after British Telecom finally introduced unmetred net access in the Uk. I immediately persuaded my folks to allow me on-line (as my habit of staying on ALL day before cost rather a lot) and the net is mine at last. The first thing I do.. ok, actually the first thing I did was go on a porn-hunting quest (I am only human). But after that, I come back to this place, a small Star Wars forum on a website I had discovered in January of the year before whilst making a brief on-line excursion (and posted a fan theory on), and had discovered theo baords in in September of the year before (and made one post- nonethess, this makes me appear to have joined the boards before I really did in any real sense).
This place makes a great place for me to begin socialising on-line, knowing absolutely nothing of how to socialise on-line at all. After spotting queeq's Monty Pythion quote in his sign I am quickly accepted and when I offer to re-vamp the defunct RP area for Raz (thereby getting his attention) I became a major poster around here.
It was very different then. It was purely a Star Wars forum on EZboard with about five different areas. Episode II spoilers were starting to come in large quantities. The Prequel trilogy discussion area is larger than the GDF. The JC is Raz, Dim, EJ, KJ, RC, UBH and Xizor. Queeq and Gundy are still making their names here. There is no welcome area. To give an idea of the size difference, twenty pages of threads now gives you a timeframe of four months- of mostly full threads. Back then, twenty pages is a year's worth- with far fewer full threads.
On the other hand, much is the same. Queeq has a bar where everyone socialises. There is an alien abduction thread where Gundy and Mech talk. There is talk of movies. People are getting crushes on each other. There is the occasionaly silly arguments mostly caused by silly posters who have to be dealt with.
Whilst I tried to be friendly I was also awkard, shy, horiffically over-senstive and, frankly, very stupid at times. As opposed to now when... umm... I am a little less shy, anyway. Ok, trust me, I was worse then. I just wasn't used to PEOPLE. Hut, like many here, I immediately had an eye for girls breezing past.
And so, one day, Edna_Witch arrives, with a fresh and happy attitude to things. I have little idea about her but I get a crush on her almost at once, and finally get up the courage to ask her a question here:

via her singing antics. I am already a bit more confident with myself and to my astonishment have asked if I can e-mail her- with Edna being amazed that I even need to ask. First thing she makes me do is guess her name, which I do rather quickly as she forgets that a shortened version of her name (Elle, short for Eleanor) is on the name of her incoming mails. Dah!
queeq quickly catches on to the two of us getting a long well, and when Edna spends a week away from he board and I start to pnaic, he mails her asking for her to return. Which she would have done anyway, but the point remains that Edna and myself come under the spotlight a little. And it must be said, the two of us started to bring a few threads a taddette off-topic...

and in several other places, which would in the months to come get to the point where a thread in the JC is opened (which I read when I became a member) asking if the GDF was a place now for anything else other than us two talking! The short-lived "Ush and Edna' forum that Raz set up as a joke was withdrawn after I said it was insulting me. Gah! Luckily everyone was so keen for us to get along that they were willing to indulge my over-sensitivity. Raz did, however, provide the two of us with a chat room on his website for us to use, where we did most of our flirting.
I started to move in 'hardcore' on Edna at the closing of the original Underwater tavern, the re-visited version of which exists today- back where it was being closed at 1000 posts on the idea that 1000 was far too large for a thread! Hah! I planned to kiss her on-line- something which I do without thinking about now, but which then took days of nervous planning.

A thread to celebrate me becomign a veteran member, which was quite a deal back then.
Edna disappeared around Easter, and soon after the forums moved away from EZboard. When I thought she was not coming back I was almost in tears, when she DID mail me again I was so overjoyed I opened this thread at once:

In which you may note be being just a tiny-tad lovestruck. Though as I had not met her yet, it was most definitely just a crush! I follow up this most amazingly sugary of threads with my first "Edna's birthday" thread, made against her struct insturctions but, in Edna style, which she enjoyed anyway. I opened the thread just after midnight on her birthday and have done the same thing on both birthdays since.

Well worth reading the whole thing (until the point where I upset Gundy). Edna's flirtatious teasing of me (and everyone watching it amusingly, making comments) is actually good evidence of how well we were getting on.
Things were to get more intense from there... but I will talk about that later, if people want...
mou!!! on a completely unrelated note---a friend of mine that i had introduced to my crush a few months ago (just cuz she wanted to see this guy i talked about so often) has just decided SHE would like to go out with him!! and that he's a cutie. -_-' when she met him she was like "meh! he's nothing special"
