Does Harris take office on January 20th if Biden dies before then? Would she be the one sworn in?Edit - It should go in this order but I don't know because the line of succession was created for incumbents, not elected:
1. VP Elect Harris
2. Speaker Pelosi
3. President Pro Tem Grassley
From what I understand, it would depend on when he died. If he died before the electors vote, the DNC would be able to designate a replacement. Theoretically, they could choose pretty much anyone who meets the presidential qualifications but they would almost assuredly choose the VP nominee Harris. If it is after the electors have elected him that he dies, then his VP elect would become the new president elect.

Yo Joe Biden, you won and everything, and Imma let you finish, but Donald Trump is still president!
I was thinking more like,
"Yo, Biden, I'm really happy for you, Imma let you finish, but I had one of the best campaigns of all time! One of the best campaigns of all time!"

Oh, now that is interesting. They need to protect Biden, big time, until this election dispute is settled, then. There's many comics/jokes floating around about Harris offing Biden. Not that Harris would do that. But Biden didn't look very good in a few of his recent public appearances.

If the DNC gets to choose the replacement, Republicans would probably want to help protect him too. Or else you end up with Hillary as president afterall.

It's going to be nice having a merit based admin and not a nepotism and cronyism based one again.
Remember pre-2012 Politico? I do.
Need a job? Under President Barack Obama, as with presidents before him, it doesn’t hurt to have the right last name.Obama’s promise of changing Washington hasn’t extended to banishing the age-old practice of giving plum posts to relatives of your top supporters — as he’s done with the relatives of a half-dozen well-connected Democrats.

Obama did try some very low-brow Nepotism but got blocked. Again, pre-2012 Politico:
Politico's Freedom of Information Act request revealed that in 2009, the Justice Department ruled that Obama could not appoint his half-sister to a commission on White House fellowships or his brother-in-law to a commission on physical fitness.
Granted, your point about Trump having an administration of disgusting cronyism is definitely correct.
"The Daily Mail pointed out that such egocentric Americans were beyond mistaken in assuming the worldwide celebrations were just for them.
According to the outlet, "Every year on Bonfire Night [Guy Fawkes Night] families across the UK gather outside on November 5 to enjoy firework displays commemorating the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605. The plot was formed by Catholic zealots to blow up Parliament in order to assassinate King James I and overthrow Protestant rule."

Media try to pass off British holiday fireworks as a celebration of Biden's apparent win. It backfires.[b]"The Daily Mail pointed out that such egocentric Americans were beyond mistaken in assuming the worldwide celebrations were just for them.
