Tell that to Republicans who keep sending jobs overseas for personal profit.

You will be paying them billions yearly forever to not close it down while they rake all the profits.

I understand that semiconductors are effectively the biggest strategic manufacturing product as we enter the AI age. Relying on a part of the world where China will dominate isn't a good idea but if Samsung wanted to manufacture in a more stable part of the world they wouldn't need incentives to do it.

This isn't like trying to prop up struggling American industries to save jobs. This is just funnelling American tax payer's money to one of the richest and most profitable companies on the planet.

Let's not pretend it's about creating American jobs. They'll be kept to an absolute minimum. It's about trying to mitigate China potentially invading Taiwan. It's about not having another bottleneck in chip manufacturing like during Covid. It's about ensuring American companies like Nvidia continue to dominate AI hardware.

Everything you said, and I'll add there is no way is hfil that China can be greedier than US companies.

I almost wish they could actually break the "rules based order", maybe we'd all be able to afford the costs of living.

The 6.4billion is over a long period. The majority of the funding is from private investors.

The jobs listed are not massive, but large enough. 17k construction, which will dry up once the project is done and 4.5k in manufacturing once the plants are up and running.

The jobs being the cause or a side-effect is largely irrelevant when the outcome is US jobs being created. As for the rest, absolutely, Taiwan makes 50%+ of chips right now, that's too dangerous with China looking on like a lecherous pedo.

When even Rupert Murdock's had enough of these clowns. LoL.

112 Republicans voted against, that's still a majority of House Republicans in Putin's pocket pushing his propaganda.

They have been, but the Russian Ruble's are still keeping the main core together. As two Republican congressmen recently said, 'Russian propaganda is being repeated by Republicans on the chamber floor'.

Joe Biden resigning from the race is just another notch in his legacy that elevates him far above Donald Trump. While Trump threw a tantrum and denied the election results (then committed treason and pushed his followers to do the same),Biden instead chose to put the country ahead of his ego, in the end.

He's in his final stage, Grampa Joe.

'Cos I've got a golden ticket...

They're going to do the same again. His followers are already saying (on X) that the polls/media/establishment are slowly brainwashing us now to accept the rigged elections (i.e. the scenario where KH wins).

After they've pushed for 2+ years that Joe Biden is too old and shouldn't be running for a second term, Republicans are now spinning that Biden's now a "quitter" for dropping out of the 2024 election 🙂

one old movie quote has been very relevant for Joe this past week
"if you strike me down now, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine"

For some reason I read that with the Emperor's voice in my head.

Biden isn't Palpatine.

More like Obi-wan when he sees Luke and sacrifices himself.

Damn, turns out the would be assassin was a big Biden supporter and not a Republican.

He's even got the blue sabre in that scene like a proper Democrat 🙂

So goofy. 😂
