Millennium Falcon question

Was re-watching Firefly and their ship Serenity is a The Firefly-class transport ship, hence the show’s name.

As a not expert in SW, I wanna ask, is the Millenium Falcon the same way, a type of cargo ship w. a certain make and model, or is it something that was made from scratch/one of a kind?

It’s just a modified freighter. A YT-1300 from the Corellian Engineering Corps.
