That has nothing to do with it Carv. The writer wrote Thor to use the hammer for a reason (it helped). If the writer felt the hammer doesn't help then he wouldn't have wrote Thor to use it.

Old King Thor threw a sun into a blackhole, Jane threw a golden city into the sun, but Odinson can't throw a ship?
