DC to become a state?

I could have sworn the option was floated a few times, and they didn't want state hood.

Puerto Rico has voted in favor of statehood multiple times.

The thing a lot of people on the left don’t get is that there’s a good chance that if they became a state they’d vote for Republican senators and representatives. They think just because they’re Hispanic looking they’ll vote for dems and that’s not necessarily the case. That shouldn’t matter though. If they want to be a state then they should be.

Id imagine considering Puerto Ricans are highly religious and hate communist Cuba, there will be a lot of republicans... Intact, I think it'd go as far as 40% republican in popular votes.
