Rank every single MCU movie you've seen so far from best to worst

Who were Timon and Pumba?

Spiderman 1/2, Civil War, Winter Soldier, and Iron Man 1

Then everything else

I've always felt the titles Age of Ultron and Civil War were kind of exaggerated. More like Weekend of Ultron and Civil Scuffle.

Anyway, my top one is still Captain America: The Winter Soldier. No matter how many times I've watched that film it's never gotten old.

Will have to think more about the others, but the first Avengers movie, IM1, GotG1, Dr Strange are all near the top. And Captain Marvel, Thor TDW and IM3 are at the bottom. The rest are harder to sort just off the top of my head.

It's hard for me to say. I have to weigh quality vs fun. I don't think Thor Ragnarok was the best MCU film in terms of quality, but I'll admit it is the movie I had the most fun watching. And that is what these movies are supposed to be right? So I would place that movie at the top of my list.

I also love magic and the Doctor Strange movie IMO truly captured it well. It felt like a movie about magic instead of a super hero film. I like the Spiderman movies too and Civil War. I also have a soft spot for Iron Man 3. Also enjoyed the guardian movies a lot.

If I had to pick a top 3 it would be:

1-Thor 3
2-Doctor Strange
3-Guardians 2

The movies that would be the lowest on my list would be maybe the first captain america movie. Captain Marvel too. I also feel Winter Soldier was a weak entry.

With that said I still enjoyed even the weaker films.

First time I've seen someone give that much praise to SM: Far From Home.

I enjoyed it myself, but not that high on this MCU list.

Iron Man
Winter Soldier
Civil War
GotG

The others

Extremis was so wasted in IM3.

The Warren Ellis comic story is amazing.

Was the ability to create extreme levels of heat also in the of the comic?

Yup, it's superb but for me the Granov arts clinical stillness and antiseptic sterility, made the story.

Yes, but it wasn't the main ability. Fire breath, mostly.

Extremis offered a very versatile array of superhuman abilities.

Super-strength, super-speed (running and reflexes), healing factor, electro-blasts, metal claws and so on.

Shane Black took it and made living bombs out of Extremis mutates, apparently because it used to be cool to have more explosions on the big screen. Michael Bay level of planning.

Thanks.

Did the Extremis subjects have all of these combined powers, or did it vary from patient to patient?

One thing that makes this list special for me, is that every single MCU film gets at least a thumbs up from me. So despite them being numbered from 1 to 23, I like all of them - some of them I love, and some others are five star knockouts for me.

It was splitting hairs, deciding the positions on this list, and some of these I feel could flip-flop with the film right below them, but here is my list as of today:

1. Avengers: Infinity War
2. Avengers: Endgame
3. The Avengers
4. Captain America: Civil War
5. Iron Man
6. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
7. Spider-Man: Homecoming
8. Guardians Of The Galaxy
9. Thor: Ragnarok
10. Ant-Man And The Wasp
11. Captain Marvel
12. Black Panther
13. Thor
14. Spider-Man: Far From Home
15. Avengers: Age Of Ultron
16. Captain America: The First Avenger
17. Doctor Strange
18. Iron Man 2
19. Thor: The Dark World
20. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2
21. Ant-Man
22. Iron Man 3
23. The Incredible Hulk

Depends on the type of the Extremis serum.

In the original storyline, there was only one Extremis mutate.

Mallen. And he had the combined powers I've mentioned.

Eric Savin was supposed to be his equivalent in Black's movie, but he messed it up, like he did with everything else there.

PS. Stark also has gotten his own variation of Extremis in that comic, but its benefits were quite different. Greatly enhanced perception, getting in better sync with his suit of armor. Rather than becoming a physical powerhouse.

Wiki summed it up nicely:

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Extremis_virus

But the article can be confusing and is very likely to get expanded once Marvel decides to re-use Extremis again in their future stories. Even the Hulk had his own little adventure (and solo run) focusing on the Extremis.

Adapting Ellis' first story should've been a walk in the park. Hell, it was written and drawn like a movie.

That's a shame then if it's as good as it seems.

Avengers:IW
Captain America :TWS
Captain America :CW
Avengers : Endgame
Guardians of the Galaxy

Top 5 for me

Long story short, Extremis rewrote Tony’s DNA to incorporate his armor into his very being. Tony became a technopath who could use his mind to access computers, satellites, make a phone call with his mind without even speaking, and become “one” with his armor so that it was faster than the speed of thought.

👆

Shane Black not only completely ignored that part; he made the "brute" Extremis mutates seem like a lame cannon fodder.

Also, I have no idea what was the point of using Eric Savin - or his name, at least - the character who had literally nothing to do with Extremis OR even Iron Man in general in comics.

He was essentially a poor man's Mallen in the movie. Why the name change? What was that for?

Confusing and completely unnecessary.

Is there anything Shane Black won't ruin?

You're actually the first person I've seen who ranks it below Homecoming other than me. I felt like I was crazy when the movie came out and everyone here was talking about how much of an upgrade it was. IMO it was a solid drop in quality from Homecoming (FFH is one of the highest ranked Marvel films, and it probably shouldn't be). I just have it up there because Mysterio was fantastic and the ending twist with him was great. Also, I'm pretty biased when it comes to Spidey. If I had to truly rank it, it'd be just below all the others I named (and maybe Doctor Strange, which I forgot to mention).
