Tom Cotton asks Vanita Gupta: "Against which races do you harbor racial bias?"

Ths good stuff starts at 2:15.

Me: All of them.

Don't know who either person is, but that is a loaded question.

When it comes to racism, I like to rank them.

1. Me
2. Everyone else

It is, but she did say "every person has racial bias", so he was just curious which ones she had it for.

As Cotton pointed out, she assumes all Americans are "racist" so he used her own logic against her and of course she couldn't answer the question.

She's a visible minority so she assumes she's not racist and she assumes all White people are.

She said unconscious bias. You can't point out racism you're not consciously aware of.

But then how could you possibly make the claim that "everyone" has it? How would you know that?

You trust the research.

There has actually been research done where every single person ever tested has shown unconscious racial bias? 100% of people, how ever they are tested? That's surprising.

Are these people of all different ethnicities and walks of life? You got a link?

So he strawmanned what she said and then asked the loaded question. Pfft. Typical Rigtist.

I think this Tom fellow's family are unconsciously racist for having the last name Cotton.

She was spinning so hard, the poor soul. Her kind of wokester bullshit needs to be called out at every opportunity.

Obviously language doesn't work like that though, people make absolute statements all the time that either can't be proven or are just clearly false. A famous one is the there's just two biological sexes, that is just clearly not true scientifically, but to be honest you do get what the people are trying to say. With something like everyone has some subconscious racial biases, like maybe that isn't true because somewhere there is some person completely unaffected by judgements based on race, but I think for most people, certainly in the US, we are very influenced by the culture around us which is very racialized, and we may hold some sort of positive or negative views of races (like Asians are good at maths, or having a subconscious reaction of fear when noticing a black person walking behind us at night because we are told by media that we are might be at danger, and I think that is even the case in black communities at times...)

The video doesn't really seem like the gotcha that the OP makes it out to be tbh.

I wish hemp clothes were more common than cotton.

I have no interest in knowing who these people are.
