If JJ was given 4 hours to make EP IX

I think the movie would have been much better to watch while EP VIII's damage was too big to fill.

But still things like Palpatine's revival, Kylo Ren's redemption and the last fight would have been much smoother.

Honestly, without massive retcons (or should I say, more massive retcons), I don't think episode 9 was really doable. TLJ left too much shit to work with coming in to the end of the trilogy imo.

TLJ did way too much damage to fix.

Finally, we agree on something one hundred percent.

Yes, Episode VIII was indeed the worst of them and did catastrophic damage.

IX, no matter how long it would be, would still be all about damage control.

I actually wish the OT was longer. There were some fine scenes which weren't included. Biggs Darklighter, Han thanking Luke for rescuing him from Jabba and so on...

If he got a master film maker like suder to help, then maybe!

But IX as a movie would have been smoother with more screen time.

Wish we could get an unaltered extended trilogy

Couldn't they let someone to reedit TLJ to a new version?

Yeah... so do I...

Im guessing they would at least have explained Palpatines revival.

That in itself would have made a world of difference.

They could flesh out Kylos redemption. Give Lando more time to bring back an army with him. Show Finn actually discovering his force powers. Explain what was going on in that end fight...

So it definitely could have used more time, and could have been substantially improved as a film. But unfortunately the story, the trilogy and the character arcs would still suck.

It's funny --- Expanded Universe (Legends) did a perfect job explaining Palpatine's clones and even his "spirit form"...

Episode IX brings Palps back in the laziest way possible, not bothering to explain anything, really.

the only way the new star wars movies get any better, is for Rey to get penetrated in all holes by tentacles monsters

They need to make the ST non-canon.

RELEASETHEJJCUT

hahahahaha

Damn Daisy got some bolt ons.

If they let JJ direct the whole series this wouldn't have happened.

JJ Abrams > Rian Johnson.

The characters all sucked, no amount of time would have saved it.

It still would have been a pointless repeat of the OT though.
