Conservative Mental Acrobatics

Whilst I have deep seated conservative values, is it me, or do modern conservatives seem to be anti-logical? As in, they will deftly ignore known facts and science to perpetuate their own ignorance out of some semblance of pride? The modern Republican Party seems to be against actual conservative ideals and just wants to “OWN the LIBS!!!!@@&&”.

Such petty tribalism in full display. Not saying modern liberals are much better, but I feel conservatives have dealt the major damaging blows in recent times.
