The image seen on the ship from the projector is when the core starts to ignite. Which gives off a star like imagine glowing the same as the imagine on the projection. The explosion comes next when looks nothing like the star like imagine. It’s circular in shape expanded outwards in ALL directions. You can see the debris coming from all around the explosion which is nothing like shown on the ship.
