The yellow sun he uses doesn’t matter unless said sun was created to specifically augment him by some higher beings.
So from Imagine verse, to Marvel, to Dark Horse and so on, he would gain the same level of powers depending on the amount of time he stays in there.

Giving Superman the pc allows him to amp himself at will. This isn’t what carter had in mind when he said it though.
