The World Health Organization's Dr. Peter Ben Embarek said last month it's "extremely unlikely" that the coronavirus leaked from a lab in Wuhan and that instead, "our initial findings suggest that the introduction through an intermediary host species is the most likely pathway," per NBC News.

But Redfield told CNN, "I do not believe this somehow came from a bat to a human, and at that moment in time, the virus came to the human, became one of the most infectious viruses that we know in humanity for human to human transmission."

It's not really the criticism I take issue with, so much as the narrative and political posturing. imho the big difference is this: nothing about that encourages people to hate others because they might be of chinese decent. regardless, his speculation is worth nothing without evidence, and seems to have the same sort of devoid conversational value as "george bush did 9/11"

Normal people can tell the difference between a virus being studied in a lab and accidentally being carried out into the public because of lax biosecurity protocols and a virus being created by genetic modification in a lab and deliberately released into a country's own population in the hope that it'll spread around the planet and hit a particular country because you want their leader to not get reelected.

I mean, we saw how far China and international communities would go to suppress anything Free Hong Kong. How far would they all go to erase even a hint of culpability?

Are you possibly referring to Trump's appointees Paul Alexander or Dr. Scott Atlas? Cos they were mocked in regards to wanting Covid-19 to purposely spread, in order to achieve herd immunity. Which would have been devastating, cos as we've seen, we can't command covid-19 to infect only the young and healthy. Covid does what it wants.

That mockery was specifically in regards to the widely held Trumper belief that China created and released covid-19 in order to get Trump booted out of office.

The other belief, that China created covid-19 and it got out, is not a crazy idea, but proof is needed.

And agree proof is needed to accuse China of designer bio warfare. But I think we can take them to task for being less then transparent during the initial investigations, if not outright obstructionists.

I'm very happy to see a CDC guy speculate like this, it show the idea that they're Chinese puppets is as unfounded as any conspiracy theory.

For it to work, Trump would have to respond exactly as he did. For all they knew, we had a pandemic response team and playbook, and he would follow it like every other country in the world did. Basically, that trap only works if he is dumb enough to step in it.

The four major companies who are making these covid vaccines are/have either:

Never brought a vaccine to market before covid (Moderna and Johnson & Johnson).

Are serial felons (Pfizer, and Astra Zeneca).

Are both (Johnson & Johnson).

Also no one here even realizes these are not actually vaccines, vaccines have live cultures of the virus in them. These are not actually vaccines.

Johnson & Johnson has lost major lawsuits in 1995, 1996, 2001, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2019 (For what it's worth, J&J's vaccine also contains tissues from aborted fetal cells, perhaps a topic for another discussion)

Pfizer has the distinction of the biggest criminal payout in history. They have lost so many lawsuits it's hard to count. You can check out their rap sheet here. Maybe that's why they are demanding that countries where they don't have liability protection put up collateral to cover vaccine-injury lawsuits.

And in case you missed it, the company had their covid vaccine suspended in at least 18 countries over concerns of blood clots, and they completely botched their meeting with the FDA with numbers from their study that didn't match.
