DCeased victims weren't truly dead as the afflicted had their condition reversed. Marvel Zombies on the other hand were stricken by the Evil Dead magical curse. That curse seemed to have an affect on virtually everyone. It probably wouldn't matter in the end, but IMO the Evil Dead magical curse seemed to be a more permanent condition.
