California Police officer and Tim Pool fan fired for having been a Proud boy.
Interesting Police Officer, Proud boy, Tim Pool fan. No way this guy is any kind of racist at all.

Haven't read the article just yet, but going by the title here:
Personally, I'm against assign guilt by association. Of course, one can cite extreme examples of "The KKK" and such, but I don't see the Proud Boys as having crossed that line yet.
In general, whether you agree with Republicans or the Alt-Right, they should be entitled to their opinions (Whether its promoting a border wall, or a belief that women are passing on a chance at family for career, or guns rights or whatever..)
If he actually did something particularly egregious, or even said something so unsupportable it gives the department a bad name, then by all means fire him for his actions. Just don't pretend the only virtuous opinions are those on the left.

I like the proud boys motto. "I'm a proud Western chauvinist and I refuse to apologise for creating the modern world"
Here was me thinking it was people like Thomas Edison, Tim Berners-Lee, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Alexander Graham Bell, James Watt etc that built the modern world. Not some hillbilly neckbeards with AR-15s.
You learn something new every day.
