Would you clone a pet?

https://www.nationalgeographic.org/article/we-can-clone-pet-dogs-good-idea/

Apparently we can clone dogs, but to me you can never replace that original dog, and cloning them just seems like exactly that, it's disrespectful to their memory, imo.

I'd not do it myself. I'll keep the memories of my old dog, while making new ones with the new dog.

I wouldn't, they aren't the "same" animal even if genetically they are.

Personally I wouldn't do it. It just seems like the next step for puppy mills and there are plenty of dogs already out there that need home.

I would if I had the science and technology to; mostly for research purposes.

No, I think cloning is morally wrong. That goes for humans as well as animals.

If you make yourself with a vagina he would probably die before letting you run that test.

Think about DAT

only scenario i can think of where i'd go along with it: adopt an abused pet, and once their lifespan is up, clone them and give them a fresh start. other than that it would just feel like replication/replacement

If you cloned a pet after it aged a certain amount, the clones DNA will still have aged.

Durrr

I'd like to clone some playboy pets!

Unless you're saying that the pet is actually a wife or hubby, and they look fine they're just crazy af and your rather a lobotomized/brainwashed/mind wiped version fresh from scratch.

You know it is possible to map out using pure geometric principles, not knowing a thing about how three of the four fundamental interactions in physics works mind you, to map about enough of a cosmic history to combine with photographs from an electron microscope of the carbon molecules alignment in your DNA to use quantum tunnelling to make it print or replicate without error (aging) at any point of the development and or aging process. Things like development and aging being mere platitudes

Pooty the pervert lol.

you're possibly right but more study is needed. Telomere rejuvenation is also something in its infancy.

Sounds like they were trying to use an artifice like they would the real thing.

Without running my calculus first

Yes, unless it was seriously expensive.

We could clone chickens and make t-rexes.

Just realised it was Penthouse Pets. It seems so long ago porn was on paper.
