Jan. 6 committee refers Trump for 4 criminal violations
The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol held its_final public meeting_on Monday and made unprecedented criminal referrals against former President Trump.
The panel heard from more than 1,000 witnesses, gone over millions of pages of documents and held nine public hearings as part of its year-plus investigation into what happened when Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in a bid to overturn the 2020 election results and what led to that day._
The committee spent more than a year making the case that Trump was squarely at the center of efforts to overturn the election and was ultimately responsible for the deadly riot.
On Monday, the nine lawmakers voted unanimously to recommend the Justice Department file criminal charges against Trump and others, following a presentation of its findings. -snip
Excellent 🙂
Hopefully the DOJ has the balls to charge this criminal and his crime family too.

It was not just criminal referrals. The January 6th committee also referred four House Republicans to the Ethics Committee for ignoring congressional subpoenas: Andy Biggs, Jim Jordan, Kevin McCarthy, and Scott Perry.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/dec/29/donald-trump-judge-hints-supporters-more-than-protest-jan-6January 6: judge hints Trump wanted supporters to ‘do more’ than protest
Opinion comes in ruling barring man charged with role in Capitol attack from arguing former president authorized his actionsThu 29 Dec 2022 15.19 GMT
Donald Trump may have been telling his supporters he wanted them “to do something more” than simply protest against his defeat to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential race when he told a mob of them to “fight like hell” on the day of the Capitol attack, according to findings from a federal judge on Wednesday.
The opinion from Judge John Bates came in the form of a ruling barring one man charged with having a hand in staging the Capitol assault on January 6 2021 – Alexander Sheppard – from arguing that Trump, as president at the time, had authorized his actions.

Bates’s judgment recounted how Trump’s speech near the White House on the day that Congress certified his loss to Biden urged his supporters to march to the Capitol without saying that it was illegal to enter the area where lawmakers would be voting.“These words only encourage those at the rally to march to the Capitol … and do not address legality at all,” wrote Bates, who was appointed to Washington DC’s federal courthouse bench by former president George W Bush. “But, although his express words only mention walking down … to the Capitol, one might conclude that the context implies that he was urging protesters to do something more – perhaps to enter the Capitol building and stop the certification.”
Bates made it a point to note that his reasoning was not out of line with the final report recently issued by a congressional committee investigating the Capitol attack, which has been linked to nine deaths, including suicides of law enforcement officers who defended the building that day.
That committee’s report found Trump acted “corruptly” on the day of the attack because he knew it was illegal to stop the certification of Biden’s victory over him, and the panel issued a non-binding recommendation for federal prosecutors to file criminal charges against the former president.
Bates added that he believed Trump’s use of the phrase “fight like hell” in his speech on 6 January – two weeks before Biden assumed control of the Oval Office – potentially served as “a signal to protesters that entering the Capitol and stopping the certification would be unlawful”.

Tax returns coming out tomorrow. Think there will be a single Trumper who decides that trump paying less taxes than they do most years is a bad thing?
In 2016 Trump bragged about being a tax dodger during one of the Presidential debates and Trumpers cheered him on and elected him. They didn't care then, they won't care now.
The same people who cry "we support the troops!" the loudest.
I'm laughing at all the times I heard "Trump's taxes will never be released, he's too powerful!" in here from the KMC Trumper Squad. Never?

Well she wasn't wrong.
A Harvard law professor suggested that former President Donald Trump's legal team should get him to plead insanity if he goes on trial.
In a tweet on Sunday, the professor, Laurence Tribe, an expert on constitutional law, commented on Trump's video message to the House select committee on January 6, 2021.
"If this is the 'defense' at Trump's forthcoming trial, I don't envy the lawyers who agree to represent him," Tribe tweeted.
"They'd better be psychiatrists expert at reflexive projection and capable of getting their client to plead insanity," Tribe added.

Oath Keepers terrorist were found guilty and are going to prison, maybe they and these Proud Boys can form a prison knitting circle.

Play by play brought to you by the same side that called an innocent kid acting in self defense a murderer, and sticks to that smear even after he was fully acquitted.
"Donald Trump spent $10 million of his political action committee’s money to pay for his personal legal bills in 2022, The New York Times reported on Tuesday.
The Times notes Trump’s Save America PAC spent $16 million total on legal payments, and that although some of that money went to lawyers representing Trump allies, the majority of it went to lawyers representing Trump himself as the former president has fought a variety of investigations." -snip
Trumpers will never not fall for the con. Too funny.
