Why is Bezos is flying to space? Because billionaires think Earth is a sinking ship!

The most revealing quote from any rich person in the past decade came out of Bezos’ mouth in 2018, when he told an interviewer: “The only way that I can see to deploy this much financial resource is by converting my Amazon winnings into space travel. That is basically it.” I admire the honesty of the sheer inhumanity this quote displays. What would you do with $200bn? Cure diseases? End hunger? Eradicate poverty in an entire nation? Nah. Build a bunch of space rockets! I simply can’t see any other way to get all of these cumbersome gold bars out of my personal vault.

When Bezos announced he was going to space, many people joked that he should stay there. Absolutely not. He must be returned to Earth at all costs. The problems of the world that he is escaping were created by rich people just like him. We’re not going to let them get away from us that easily.

It's disturbing that he calls them "winnings". Like abusing his employees was some form of competition that he's succeeded in.

billionaires proving one again that no dream is unattainable... If you're a billionaire clown. and these out of touch f*cksticks expected everyone to be excited over it. "wow! GO BILLIONAIRES!! this makes it all worth the tax money you don't pay!! I am totally sharing your excitement vicariously right now! Weeeeee!! "

Winnings is apt phraseology.

Venture capitalism essentially being gambling, with the markets the casino.

So how much longer until the uprising and purges?

If people were being radicalized against the rich before, I'd imagine these smug vanity stunts will give many dreams of fatcats heads on a chopping block.

This man deserves to die

The Bezos honour guard will be quick to say: "but he created jobs and adds value!", or similar.

Never understood why people lick boots, especially the boots of a person who couldn't care less about you.

Same here. I'm sympethetic to the idea that the state shouldn't do as other countries have and literally take every last parcel of land or money, but than you have righties who defend, say, Vince McMahon and his inhumane working conditions.

The irony is one of the biggest proponents of "bootstrap conservatism" I've ever met had children late in life, and as soon as his son was afflicted with a developmental condition he applied for state services.

I feel like I'm dirty and gloating at another mans expense even by saying this, but it is what it is.

All rightists are Libertarians till they need help.

I bet every single one you buys shit from Amazon though.

I don't anymore, I got hacked and someone bought a 60$ apple stylus through my account. I never got my money back and as such stopped paying for my kindle subscription and have bought nothing from Amazon since. But I am a Bush man living in the third world.

I get hacked all the time. You can't get hacked, unless someone cuts off one of your limbs. Money is not directly controlled by your brain despite what you've been mislead to believe.

I can "say" I consent to get hit by paintballs, but at the end of the day playing paintball, sore, I'm like "the fuk am I doing this for"
