Part 2 was just bad all around. Even the fight scenes were meh and this film is one long fight.

In fairness "day 1" Snyder would be DotD, Watchmen and 300. All of which are excellent. I even enjoyed Suckerpunch when most people didn't. Everything since has been downhill.

Example...and excuse spoilers...Kora says she's going to cut the bad guy's head off. She cuts his head off. You don't see the blow. You don't see his head come off. You don't even see his body at all after he's dead.

This kind of thing happens during the fights all the time. It's so bad at one point the edit cuts to a death after the blow has been struck and the victim is falling down.

Oh, god. That makes it even more egregious that they forced a PG-13 version. That's dumb AF.

Sounds like he's ripping off Riddick (2013) a bit, honestly.

Fair enough. Sounds like the R-rated versions will be better. I'll still give them a chance at some point.

But watching the trailer, I see light sabers and I'm just like, "I know it was intended as a Star Wars film originally, but why still use light sabers?" That's kind of cringy from the start.

Part 1 was so bad I couldn't even finish it.

I'm not bothering with part 2.

I just finished Part 1 of the SNYDER DIRECTOR'S CUT!!

I have lots of thoughts.. lol. It's a bit of a mixed bag.

Yeah those were great (not seen Sucker Punch), so basically its the old DCEU cult who have become the Snyder cult.

I hesitate to say terrible or not terrible.. heh. The main antagonist and protagonist are good, and it's a pretty decent character driven drama. But the endless lens flares are enough to keep me from ever wanting to watch it again. There's some other cringy Snyderness. Snyder's constant shallow depth of field is also distracting.

Honestly, the blood splatters are so ridiculous it takes you out of it a little, just like having NO blood in some PG-13 version (which I never watched btw). He really should have dialed that back a LITTLE.

So it was watchable for me just because how often do you get to see an epic with Space Nazis? Haha.. but good? Eh, I wouldn't go that far.

So yeah, I finished both Parts of the DC. I never watched the PG-13 versions.

You get to see the Space Hitler having some sort of sexual relations with a tentacle squid thing.

So yeah, some of the "adult" stuff just goes kind of stupid and is unnecessary. Both parts didn't need to be 3 hours long. Each part is about 90 min of story stretched out to 3 hours.

Space Nazi also ****s the squid thing in the regular cut. Though not sure if it's more graphic in the SC?

From what I remember it shows the tentacles wrap around his neck and such, and it goes down his throat. I think it's all chest and above shots, nothing below the belt. I don't know how that compares to the PG-13 version.

But it's cringy.

The Space Nazi uniforms were a little too on-the-nose, tbh.
