You know Alex Jones got the vaccine, right? Same with people like Tucker Carlson, they got it, their families got it, but they go on to cast doubts or outright condemn the vaccines because there's an audience who want to hear that particular nonsense and in turn that makes them money.

Vaccinations are another factor, the first US vaccination was in Dec of 2020, so 2020 didn't have much of a benefit there, while 2021's has had it the whole time. Even though vaccinations have slowed to a crawl now.
