Less methane from cows adds to the greater whole process of reduction. There's no one item solution, a lot of things need to change. More cars going electric, more homes using solar panels to supplement energy needs, cleaner mass transit etc.

It's very sad. Lahaina Town was beautiful. I spent 6 nights there. The island will be fine. Stuff grows back so fast there. The people will have a hard time for awhile. But not because of climate change...

Honestly, it might be too late regardless: and at the heart of everything is our use of power. We would have to almost give it up completely to erase our footprint.

Would mankind be better off with a smaller population, natural small scale communities with sustainable ways of life and probably no Internet, no corporations or larger national governments? Yeah probably. Never ever going to happen though.

The people (usually Rightist) who argue that the US shouldn't strive for cleaner/renewable energy sources because "Chi-nah!", are very, very low intelligence types.

Even if China did nothing (though they are, cos pollution is literally killing them) and the US something, that's still going to lessen the blow overall.
