I think the better question is... Is the resulting climate change likely to change society and civilization as we know it? Are we going to live in a literal Waterworld?
To be honest, while humanity is stupid, I think majority of us, if we feel that our lives and the way we live our lives is threatened, there COULD BE enough change to stop climate change hitting as bad as it could.
Unfortunately, it's unlikely to hit most until it's too late. I highly doubt anyone's house is going to be submerged or underwater in the next century, however.
