I'm more wondering, why Vader even cares to have Solo? Has a reason been stated in any prior issue? Cause he didn't really care for him in ESB, he just used him as a test subject for the carbonite and then gave him to Fett.
Also an auction for Han?...What? He had a bounty placed on him by Jabba, there shouldn't be an auction because Han is basically the Hutt's property. I'm not really getting how this all meshes well with the movies.

Have you been reading the comic at all? Because it's all pretty well explained. Han didn't just owe money to Jabba. Heck, we even see that in The Force Awakens. Han owes money or has betrayed pretty much every criminal organization in the galaxy. Black Sun, the Hutts, the Pikes, the list goes on.
As for why Vader is interested, Vader is still on the warpath for Luke. And obviously, Luke is going to try to rescue Han. So if Vader is in possession of Han, that means Luke is going to have to come to him. Vader didn't just use Han as a test subject for the carbonite in ESB. He used him as bait to lure out Luke. The reason he gave him up to Boba so easily is because the bait worked, and Luke arrived. Same deal here. Han is bait for Luke again, in Vader's eyes.

Far as Vader, figured he would try something different since it didn’t work the first time. But alright I suppose, go for it.
I mean, it did work the first time. Luke showed up on Bespin, just as Vader wanted. Sure, Luke ultimately rejected Vader and escaped, but Han as bait worked exactly as intended. And it's working in this situation too. Luke is showing up, along with Leia, Lando, and Chewie, to try and rescue Han. And it's not like Vader engineered this whole situation anyway. He just caught word of Han being auctioned, figured Luke would show up to save his friend, and decided to show up first and crash the auction.
Also, I want to comment on Qi'ra fighting Vader. Qi'ra was very likely trained by Darth Maul, given the ending of Solo. We don't know whether or not she's Force sensitive, to my knowledge, but if Maul saw merit in training her, I wouldn't be surprised if she is. Vader even commented that he recognizes the "lineage of her training," implying she's received the same style of Sith training passed down to Maul by Sidious. Even then, onlookers like Lando can recognize that she's barely holding her own, but doesn't really stand a chance against Vader.
Honestly, I really hope we get Qi'ra's story more fully fleshed out after War of the Bounty Hunters. I want to know what her connection to Maul was, and what happened between Maul and Crimson Dawn after Solo. Maul seemed to always be seeking out an apprentice, first with Savage, then Ahsoka, then Ezra. It'd make sense for Qi'ra to be among them, and I want to see that explored in a comic or novel.

And Qi'ra has logically honed her skills dramatically since the events of Solo... Especially since the indication is that she was working closely with Maul himself in the aftermath(who may have furthered her skillset in the art.)
...Not that she'll be able to beat Vader(in the previews it doesn't appear that he's really exerting himself much, and he TK ragdolls her in the final panel)... But her going saber-to-saber with him for a bit doesn't really bother me, given the aforementioned training.

The High Republic is still going strong. The Drengir stuff just wrapped up in the main High Republic comic. Jabba the Hutt has gotten involved in trying to end the alliance between the Republic and the Hutt Empire in the High Republic Adventures comic. Out of the Dark just came out pretty recently. Not really my favorite of the books so far. The Rising Storm which came out not too long ago was really good, though.
I'm trying to keep up on all the High Republic releases. It's honestly my favorite multi-media project that Star Wars has done in quite a while.
