I left the KMC Discord I started.

My statement:

The decision to leave wasn't a hard one.

Which may surprise some.

Allow me to explain.

I cannot in good conscience, devote any time and energy into a place that had become a place I never intended it to be.

I started the Discord as a backup in case KMC ever went offline, a place where we could also get away from the biased mods, the echo chamber of KMC, a place for the permanently banned, and for those who were just sick of being there.

Everyone, regardless of ideology, was welcome.

I gave up Admin privileges (due to being a student and a part-time worker) and I do not think that if I kept them, things would be different.

Only a few of us were active; it was boring.

Many people joined, I think we had 60+ plus at one point, but the vast majority were not even active and some of them actually left without warning.

I posted regularly in the multiple channels, but no biters.

Also, I wasn't happy with the obsession with KMC that many of the members exhibited.

There were multiple incidents that pushed me to leave.

One incident in particular stands out.

We decided not to post about KMC anymore at the request of one of the mods.

I honored that request and then out of the blue, KMC started being mentioned again.

This lead to many people telling me to stop posting on KMC.

Despite the fact that many of those same people only stopped because they were banned.

Which was evident based on the fact they socked after the fact.

And that they could not stop posting about KMC.

If they couldn't post, no one could.

All in all, it seems like many can't get over KMC and it's sad.

Make no mistake, KMC is a Left Wing echo chamber and the mods are biased.

But I'll probably be staying until I'm permanently banned.

Also, Discord is not the right format to have discussions with people.

A forum is still the best place on the web for that.

I will be devoting some of my online time to places like KMC, Votal, and others.
