Re: Trump Used D.C. Hotel to Plan Overturning the Election

They called it the "command center," a set of rooms and suites in the Willard hotel a block from the White House where some of Donald Trump's most loyal lieutenants were working day and night with one goal in mind: overturning the results of the 2020 election.

The activities at the Willard that week add to an emerging picture of a less visible effort, mapped out in memos by a conservative pro-Trump legal scholar, and pursued by a team of presidential advisers and lawyers seeking to pull off what they claim was a legal strategy to reinstate Trump for a second term.

They were led by Trump's personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani. Former chief White House strategist Stephen K. Bannon was an occasional presence as the effort's senior political adviser. Former New York City police commissioner Bernard Kerik was there as an investigator. Also present was John Eastman, the scholar, who outlined scenarios for denying Biden the presidency in an Oval Office meeting on January 4th with Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

Jokes asides, the authorities should investigate and see who was paying for Trump's insurrection "command center", it's it's tax dollars, that could be problematic.

Trump Attorney Blamed Pence for Riot During the Attack

As Mike Pence hid from a marauding mob during the January 6th invasion of the Capitol, an attorney for Donald Trump emailed a top Pence aide to say that Pence had caused the violence by refusing to block certification of Trump's election loss.

The attorney, John C. Eastman, also continued to press for Pence to act even after Trump's supporters had trampled through the Capitol—an attack the Pence aide, Greg Jacob, had described as a "siege" in their email exchange.

"The 'siege' is because YOU and your boss did not do what was necessary to allow this to be aired in a public way so that the American people can see for themselves what happened," Eastman wrote, referring to ridiculous and discredited conspiracy theories.

Eastman's email not only blames Pence for the violence, but also reinforces the lawyer's support for his coup strategy.

When Eastman appeared on Steve Bannon's show on four days before the riot, the then-presidential attorney claimed Pence had the legal authority to throw the presidential election to the House. It would all depend, Eastman added, on whether the then-vice president had "courage and the spine."

The bipartisan House committee investigating the January 6th attack is planning to subpoena Eastman.

"Eastman's email not only blames Pence for the violence, but also reinforces the lawyer's support for his coup strategy." -snip

And Pence is still sucking on Trump's cock, even after Trump put his life directly in danger by turning the unhinged mob of domestic terrorist on him. Too funny.

I thought Pence was done with Trump's rhetoric?

If the left was smart, they'd be right there enacting their own coup.

Viva La Revolution used to be a thing. You are all fools if you think real change can come from within.

Right wingers have the money to nuke leftists, as they have done with countries throughout the world.

It's a losing battle. 😬

Pirro Got Trump to Fund "Command Center"

It was a month after the 2020 presidential election, and Bernard Kerik was starting to panic. The former New York City police chief and his friend Rudolph W. Giuliani were shelling out thousands of dollars for hotel rooms and travel in their effort to find evidence of voting fraud and persuade state legislators to overturn Joe Biden's victory.

Yet Donald Trump's campaign had turned down Kerik's request for a campaign credit card. The bills were piling up. "How do I know I'm gonna get my money back?" Kerik remembers thinking to himself at the time, according to a recent interview.

The bills went unpaid until after Fox News personality Jeanine Pirro went to bat on their behalf. Soon after, the campaign cut Kerik a check—with Trump's approval, according to a former senior campaign official.

Seems like an illegal use of campaign funds then?

Steve Bannon, a key associate of Donald Trump and an influential figure on the American right, was convicted on Friday of contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the committee investigating last year's attack on the U.S. Capitol, a major victory for the Democratic-led panel.

A jury found Bannon, 68, guilty of two misdemeanor counts for refusing to provide testimony or documents to the House of Representatives select committee as it scrutinizes the Jan. 6, 2021 rampage by Trump supporters who tried to upend the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Enjoy federal prison, *****.

I don't think his scabby, flaky neck will be very popular in jail.
