Program purpose

Okay, so what is the purpose of the programs we’ve met this far? If we can sort that out, maybe we can get to some sort of agreement on who the “mother of the Matrix is” (okay, maybe a bit optimistic), but here’s my take.

The Architect = “systemgod” = A.I. programmer = Oversees the entire Matrix
The Oracle = strategy = investigates human free will/choice
Persephone = investigates emotions (love)
Merovingian = investigates languages and ?
Seraph = Some kind of A.I. firewall, attack program ?
Agents = Renegade program seek and destroy
Bearded Guy = ??
Smith = Now total system-infection/infiltration
The Twins = ?
The “werewolf” guards = ?
The Keymaker = cracking

I think the Merovingian is a data acquisition programme. Hence he knows all languages, his liking them is just a quirk not his purpose. He likes ALL info.

I think the "werewolf" or vampires were created by Merrovingian. As in the game Enter the Matrix, the vampires said that they can be deleted by Merrovingian

If he has their termination code, yes.

They are renegade programmes like him.
