Nationalism means an inherent priority towards race/religion/heritage/genetics etcLet's take an example. Irish republicanism was a movement to preserve Irish heritage, tradition, genes, language, religion etc. It's arguably a nationalist movement even though they were technically the oppressed group. Would you call them socialist?
It depends on whether they allowed individuals to own private property aka the means of production, or not.
To reword that: a country can be nationalistic and not socialist, nationalistic and socialist, not nationalistic and socialist, or not Nationalistic and not socialist.
I'd argue america is nationalistic and socialistic, plus corporatism = fascism.
