Who is Thor's mother?

Who is Thor's mom?

Vote, gentlemen.

Holy sh|t. How many times has his mother been retconned?

To be fair, Frigga is just an adoptive mom / stepmom, but I included her in order to make it even more confusing.

She has raised Thor, after all, and often that matters more than genes!

Jörð is Thor's mom in the mythology... in Marvel, it's actually Gaea, who is one of those complicated Elder God beings posing as numerous other gods (including Jörð):

Phoenix is the most recent idea. Aaron has clearly lost it 😂

Hmmmmmm......Gaea and Phoenix are the same being

Wait really? That explains a lot actually

No......Great and Jord are the same being.

Heh. That wouldn't be a bad way to try to fix Aaron's mess.

Galactic Storm would have a meltdown! 😂

I thought it was Freya, these days? But then again, Freya might also be Frigga?

Correction......that was meant to read GAEA!!!!!

In the Marvel Universe, Freyja (a.k.a. Freya, Freyia, and Freja) = Frigg (a.k.a. Frigga, Frīja, Frēa, Frīg, Frīa, Frī ), I believe, yes 👆

Scholars have debated whether Freyja and the goddess Frigg ultimately stem from a single goddess common among the Germanic peoples;

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freyja

Origin of Frigg
The connection with and possible earlier identification of the goddess Freyja with Frigg in the Proto-Germanic period (Frigg and Freyja origin hypothesis) is a matter of scholarly debate.[10]

But unless I missed a retcon or something (which is entirely possible), she is not supposed to be Thor's biological mother in the mainstream 616 universe.

Sure, she has raised him and been a good "mommy" to him, but that's it, afaik.

Yeah recent Thor issue confirms she just brought him up.

No evidence just an assumption. Given Thor unlocked his birthright powers in Empyre, his blood healed the earth and Gaea is known for masquerading as other gods.

I will be his mother. Boy needs some stability.

His birth mom is Gaea, the woman who raised him, thus his actual mother, is Freya. That's what's canon to me, Aaron can rot in hell.

Oh, what the heck.

I'm going to make this even more complicated:

Freya:

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Freya_(Earth-616)

Freyja:

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Freyja_Freyrdottir_(Earth-616)

Writer statement:

Kieron Gillen confirmed that "Freya is her own thing. Her own, very-limited-number-of-issues-appearing thing."

It's even more of a mess than I thought it would be, lol.

It's weird cuz Aaron has written both Gaea and Phoenix as his mom..he must be adopted in real life
