That’s honestly tragic especially when you consider characters like Naomi, Miles Morales, Aqualad II who have necessarily not been around too long and are to some extent successful attempts at diversity. This thread makes me wonder to what ever happened to Bunker.. Honestly I personally steer away from stuff that gets changed not because I’m against change but I’m not fond of going about it in a lazy manner. I think it’s disrespectful to fans of the actual source material. It’s just weird in my opinion, imagine people actually Willy nilly changing their sexual preference or race. I think actual stories should delve into why a character would change something like that if it is changed..
I heard with Iceman they not only made him gay despite him being a womanizer, but did it in the laziest way possible. That he was gay the entire time but nobody noticed. If true, that's just pathetic. If you're going to change a character like that at least put effort like some life experience changed him, or at least he was hiding it the whole time and either finally admits it or it's found out against his wishes. Even that would be more effort than they just didn't notice.

Groot, Lockjaw,Lockheed Krypto, Toothgnasher,Toothgrinder,And I want it to be a huge event in Marvel, spanning multiple characters, it should last for months and make sure every comic is laden with anti-heterosexual rhetoric and then culminate in American Kaiju and Fin Fang Foom raping Giant Man on the Avengers Tower.

Yeah definitely agree, if you’re going to do it. You might as well commit to it. I could excuse stuff like New52 Earth 2 Alan Scott as being a different universe, but that Iceman thing sounds terrible to me as well.

Remember Marvel Comics before Disney?I remember very well.
Lol
Back when bendis was writing the avengers, there was a shot of spiderwoman (?) bending over right in front of another female character while she looked at a computer. It's the way she was bent over, like she tried to get a "party" going or something

I still think that Jean used her powers and made Bobby gay in that story, as part of her jealously/punishment for Bobby thinking about Magik being attractive when Jean was standing right there. "Bobby... you're gay". Otherwise it was just lazy writing that doesn't fit in with the rest of Iceman's character history. I think it was kind of like a "No more mutants" moment...
Anyway, what about that cosmic dude... Waverider? Not even sure if he is still a thing or if he was crisisized out of existence somewhere along the line.
