A small price to pay for something getting released from Disney clutches and becoming public domain.
If this film ends up being great I'll still consider it a blight on mankind.

Come on now, this happening does not do away with all the sweet and cuddly Winnie the Pooh films. They're still there as is to be enjoyed.

There's horror films (B-movie tier or otherwise) out there based on a lot of classical characters/stories, that you probably wouldn't of known about if not for the internet covering it like with this one.
Regardless of the film's quality, if you let it "ruin your childhood", then you probably didn't have much of one to begin with.
I had seen some basically say "public domain = bad" because of this film's reveal, but think if like Dracula wasn't public domain. You wouldn't see him in a Castlevania and a bunch of series otherwise.

That's true, just I have two nephews now (possibly a niece soon) and if there's some youtube movie trailer showing Winnie the Pooh murdering people...
I just think it's odd to all the children whose parents showed them Pooh and then for some reason they go on some Cocomelon rip-off video who forgot to actually flag the video as "for kids." Then you have the kids feeling odd and being scared of Pooh despite seeing his cuddly side on Disney+.
There's a trailer now:

I've warmed to the idea now. Looks kind of half satire half full-blown horror.
