i am just a bit confused by his outlook on lineage.

If a White guy from Africa is coming to the US...is he an African American?

I am jsut saying, you can't really say you are German, just as I can't say I am prussian or Baden Würrtembergian, jsut because my parents came from there.

well, i never really meant i was german, just that i have german blood in me.
people tend to refer to all blacks as african american. i guess i'll take your word on europe and the U.S. having weird customs when it comes to this.

so no european american or nordic american huh?
. Lame labeling of inheritance you got over there, still in my country the children of immigrants to my country are labeled as second generation immigrants, even if they born here. Time to look at ourself as representatives of the human race, we are one race/kind regardless race, culture or whatever.
